What is Q Music and what do we do?

Q Music is Queensland's peak body for the contemporary Music Industry. Q Music develops, services, and represents all sectors of the Queensland contemporary music industry on national and international levels.

Over the past fourteen years, Q Music has become first point of contact and interface for emerging artists/industry workers with the wider music industry.

Other clientele range from government and industry sectors looking to generate partnerships or projects, who call upon Q Music for information, advice and referral. As a state wide network, Q Music plays a vital role in seeing ideas come to fruition.

Q Music also forms a vital piece in the cluster of the arts organisations who lobby government directly on a range of issues impacting upon the local and national arts industries.

Situated in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, the heart of Queensland's entertainment industry, Q Music provides a base from which music industry workers from all sectors and regions can establish networks, create partnerships and share the information that will drive the next generation of Australian music.

Q Music is a Not-For-Profit Organisation.

Where did it all start?

In 1994 the organisation received its first round of funding, and has been running solidly since 1995. The founding goals of the organisation still remain - to establish a state wide music industry network for the sharing of knowledge and information.

Who's in the driving seat?

Q Music is overseen by Management Committee and operated by a small staff.
