Easton Pearson

March 1989 marked the beginning of something special in Queensland, Australia.  Friends and design partners Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson launched their label, Easton Pearson, now an iconic part of the Australian fashion fold.  Within nine years of inception the label showed at Paris Fashion Week and in March 2014 Easton Pearson will celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Today, Easton Pearson produces three collections annually - Spring/Summer, Cruise and Autumn/Winter.  The latest addition to the Easton Pearson stable is Take Away by Easton Pearson – a collection of unique resort wear perfect for a warmer climate, or of course, a holiday.  Take Away by Easton Pearson has its own personality and ideology and continues to define a unique presence in the marketplace.

Foundry Records
228 Wickham Street

Embracing the vinyl revolution and adding to it with gusto, Foundry Records completes The Foundry family as part of Brisbane’s newest music and industry hub. Complementing the Live Room upstairs and feeding into The Foundry Studios on the third level, Foundry Records is far from just a record shop. With inbuilt cafe, bar and small stage for in-store performances and signings, Foundry Records is the face of The Foundry on street level, offering a communal space to meet, eat and listen to tunes. 
Stocking new records and a curated selection of classics, Foundry Records offers various musical styles from international and local acts as well as zines, locally roasted Blackstar Coffee, a selection of local sourdoughs, sweet treats and craft beers. As the newest kid on the block, Foundry Records is already well on track to become a must-visit for music enthusiasts passing through Brisbane following its recent August opening.

Gail Sorronda 
Shop 8, 19 James Street

Cult Brisbane label Gail Sorronda have brought their dark romanticism to James Street. Gail Sorronda’s unique monochrome designs have attracted the likes of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana who cherry picked Gail Sorronda to be stocked in the Dolce & Gabbana Spiga2 store in Milan. 

The pair were quoted in Vanity Fair that Gail Sorronda was one of the top selling labels in their store and Gabbana was quoted in the The Wall Street Journal saying “I love Gail Sorronda, It’s my taste”. Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld also named Gail Sorronda “one to watch.”

The House Of Cards Winn Lane store marks the first permanent boutique for the local womenswear brand. Expect to see unique prints, fabrics, popping colour palettes and the ability to pick up a totally unique piece. Künstler (meaning ‘artist’ in German) is a small independent magazine and bookstore in Winn Lane, Fortitude Valley that stocks a curated selection of publications about art, design, architecture, food and fashion from around the world, exhibitions by local artists and a small selection of beautiful stationery.

Miss Bond
5G Winn Lane

Miss Bond is a jewellery studio and retail space, selling artisan jewellery, handmade porcelain objects, unusual objects both useful and decorative, and artworks by the current painter Chris Worford.  Most pieces are unique to Miss Bond and are constantly changing as the local artists deliver new works.
Miss Bond supports local artists and refuses mass produced items.

Bakery Lane

Model Citizen aims to bridge the gap between functional street wear and modern tailoring. The launch [capsule] collection showcases our minimalist take on pieces that have paved the way for menswear over the years.  The unique fusion allows the wearer to seamlessly blend between dress codes.

The Outpost

The Outpost carries a well-edited collection of independent brands/products by artists and designers from around the globe, including clothing (menswear), books, zines, music and more...
The store is a retail concept, combining objects, clothing, aesthetics, history and personality to create a tightly curated “world within a world”. They also regularly host and launch art/music/product events.

Phase 4
680B Ann Street, Bakery Lane

Phase 4 is the place where mid-century homewares and music come together as one. We’re situated deep in the heart of Bakery Lane and specialise in Australian ceramics like Martin Boyd and Studio Diana and furnishings by way of Featherston and Snelling, through to pulp books and even the odd fondue sets for those early evening affairs. On the other side of the store, there’s a myriad of second-hand records specialising in Australian post-punk LPs and memorabilia. Phase 4 is also the home of LCMR, a record label specialising in vinyl reissues and previously unreleased recordings from Australia and New Zealand

This Must Be The Place

This Must be the Place (TMBTP) is not an art gallery, an art book store, a jewellery workshop, a drop-in work space, or casual venue-for-hire—it is all of these. The venue’s fit out and furniture (a ping pong table, folding chairs, movable walls) allow the space to quickly transform to support what’s happening right now. The space supports a wide range of uses, making TMBTP less about the walls and more what happens between them. It doesn't matter what brings you to the venue, TMBTP is the place.
