New Wave: DIY & Big Sound Launch

Wednesday 10 July 2002, 6:00pm
Join us and the Honourable Matt Foley, Minister for Employment, Training & Youth, and Minister for the Arts, for opening night drinks as we get ready to explore Queensland’s Music Industry in three days of forums. Doors open at 5pm.

Stick around as we kick start Big Sound with a panel of top industry speaker’s investigating the new and interesting ways that Australian acts are maintaining their careers outside the boundaries of traditional commercial enterprises in our first forum: New Wave: DIY

In today's music environment, sound business principals are an elementary ingredient ensuring the ongoing success of emerging artists. Many established artists are now stridently independent and are developing new and interesting ways of maintaining their careers outside the boundaries of traditional commercial enterprises.

Participate in a broader discussion / exploration of "independence" as an over-riding theme and share and hear others' experiences of balancing / maintaining independence alongside the drive of the record companies and the wider industry.
