BIGSOUND Unveils Full 2011 Program & Lineup

Spiral Stairs of Pavement

BIGSOUND is proud to unveil its full program, announcing FIFTY-FIVE new speakers and the entire EIGHTY bands descending on Brisbane for BIGSOUND LIVE. Heading the new announcement is founding member of US indie heroes Pavement, Spiral Stairs who joins Boy & Bear’s Jon Hart in a program which celebrates the artist and their role in the industry.

The industry list is bolstered by the inimitable Michael Chugg and Bluesfest director Peter Noble as well as label representatives Beggars Group’s Simon Wheeler (US) and Arts & Crafts CEO Jeffrey Remedios (Canada). BIGSOUND favourites Seymour Stein from Sire Records/Warner Brothers US and Shin Fukuzumi from Japan’s P-Vine will also make a welcome return to help us celebrate ten years.

The new speakers will join the likes of Alan McGee (Creation / Poptones), Tony Harlow (Warner Music), Brian Winton (Foundations Management), David Enthoven and Tim Clark (ie:music), Natalie Judge (Matador) and Paul Hanly (Frenchkiss Records) in what is one of the biggest gatherings of industry ever in Australia.

Both industry and punters alike will be treated to 80 of Australia, New Zealand and Canada’s most promising up and coming acts in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley live music precinct, featuring The Getaway Plan, Horrorshow, Busby Marou, Calling All Cars, Trial Kennedy, Evil Eddie, emma louise, Stonefield, Owl Eyes, Bleeding Knees Club, Adalita, Ball Park Music and many more.

With BIGSOUND LIVE tickets available for just $55, it’s easily the hottest ticket for tastemakers, industry and punters alike in 2011. BIGSOUND Live tickets are available now through OzTix. Industry passes are extremely limited and available now through www.bigsound.org.au.

BIGSOUND is also proud to announce the introduction of Little BIGSOUND, a day dedicated to providing an opportunity for high school aged students to explore similar topics and access speakers from BIGSOUND on Saturday September 10. For more info visit youthmusicindustries.com/little-big-sound
