BIG SOUND showcase series highlights the best in new music from Australia and further a field. Over two nights you'll hear the following hottest breaking acts take the stage in Fortitude Valley venues, using BIG SOUND to take their music to the world!

Tickets for the BIGSOUND Showcase series are on sale to the public. All tickets for the showcases are $10 plus booking fee for pre-sold tickets. Tickets on the door on the night are $12 for The Zoo, The Moon Bar and The Troubadour (Thur only). There are limited tickets available so get in early!

Q Music is proud to announce the final lineup of speakers with Sub Pop co-founder and CEO Jonathan Poneman leading a list of new additions for the BIG SOUND Music Industry Summit and Showcases. Q Music's BIG SOUND Music Industry Summit and Showcase 2008 adds another 25 special guests speakers to its already jam packed line up including industry legend Seymour Stein (Warner Brothers) and the head of music for Fox TV, Ward Hake. The USA serves the biggest contingent, with label and A&R heads Jeff Blue (Capitol), Rod Kukla (American Recordings), and notably Warner Brothers' VP Seymour Stein and A&R Lisa Nupoff . Also heading to the event, which takes place in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley September 10 -12 are Jordan Berliant (The Collective Music Group LA), Luke Bevans (Universal Music Australia), Ted Gardner (Larrikin Management and co-founder of Lollapolooza), Paul Brown (Red Hat 22 Radio Plugging, US) and Joan Warner ( Commercial Radio Australia), With an already impressive first round of speakers, they will be joined by the likes of Everett True - UK Music Journalist , J.W. In what is set to be a poignant end to the conference, and the final event in AIR’s Independent Label Summit on 5 October, BIG SOUND is pleased to announce that the closing key note address will be presented by Chairman of the Shock Group of Companies, David Williams. In a rare public presentation, David Williams will present his unique insight into the state of Australia’s burgeoning independent music scene. He'll outline what he sees are key challenges for independent labels in terms of owning and exploiting music copyrights, and what impact the advent of collective agencies such as WIN (Worldwide Independent Network) and Merlin will have on the independent label sector.
