Controversial music critic Everett True joins 9am ahead of BIG SOUND 2008
Legendary British music critic, Everett True, is best known by music fans as the man who introduced Courtney Love to Kurt Cobain at the height of the grunge movement in 1991. He has gone on to create a name for himself as an outspoken and passionate music critic. He joined us for a chat ahead of the Brisbane-based music industry conference, Big Sound.

Government support announced for BIG SOUND - the premier music event in the Southern Hemisphere.
The music industry in Queensland will be dancing to a new beat on the international stage following the announcement that Trade Queensland will support the BIG SOUND 2008 Music Industry Summit and Showcase.
Queensland Minister for Trade John Mickel said that Trade Queensland’s support of BIG SOUND will be a major catalyst to further advance contemporary music as a Queensland Smart State export industry, and to firmly establish BIG SOUND as the premier music industry summit and showcase event in the Southern Hemisphere

Digital Radio high on the agenda at Big Sound Music Summit
Digital radio is a key topic on the agenda for the Big Sound Music Industry Summit and Showcase being held on Wednesday 10 September in Brisbane. The program will include a panel discussion on the evolution of Digital Radio in Australia, the ways it could change the music industry and the ways Australian’s listen and interact with the communication medium.

BIG SOUND showcase series highlights the best in new music from Australia and further a field. Over two nights you'll hear the following hottest breaking acts take the stage in Fortitude Valley venues, using BIG SOUND to take their music to the world!
Tickets for the BIGSOUND Showcase series are on sale to the public. All tickets for the showcases are $10 plus booking fee for pre-sold tickets. Tickets on the door on the night are $12 for The Zoo, The Moon Bar and The Troubadour (Thur only).

Q Music's BIG SOUND Music Industry Summit and Showcase 2008 adds another 25 special guests speakers to its already jam packed line up including industry legend Seymour Stein (Warner Brothers) and the head of music for Fox TV, Ward Hake.
The USA serves the biggest contingent, with label and A&R heads Jeff Blue (Capitol), Rod Kukla (American Recordings), and notably Warner Brothers' VP Seymour Stein and A&R Lisa Nupoff . They're joined by Ward Hake (20th Century Fox TV), Ian Fintak (The Agency Group- America's biggest booking agency), Mike Howlett (Producer) and Brandon Fuller (A&R Worldwide), plus Mike Walsh (Music Director X FM), and Japan's Taka Chuyo (Fujipacific) and Daisuke Ihorihara (Bullion Records).
