Parades are an art rock band out of Sydney who are certainly young, but have wisely chosen to produce their entire canon in house at their leisure - the results are ambitious and undeniably refreshing. With their new material chasing the expansive and grandiose leanings hinted at on their 2008 short player, the Triple J lauded single "Dead Nationale" is a dynamic whitewash of pop harmonies, post rock guitars and electronic meanderings that sound like "the results of unhinged jam session", and serves as a precursor to Parades' impending full length. Since emerging little over a year ago, the band has already played Peats Ridge Festival 08, along with a slew of high profile supports in Sydney amidst considerable national airplay. They are the winners of the Triple J unearthed BIG SOUND '09 competition.
