Established in 1998, Love Da Records was founded by CEO Tommy Chan with a passion on the electronic and dance music industry. Prior to that Tommy (who was a electro/techno DJ) was also the founder of VMP HK (Valentine Music Production Hong Kong Ltd.-a subdivision of Singapore VMP) in 1994, released the first ever Non-stop DJ mix album in HK and also proudly organized the very first big-scale “One Nation” handover party in 1997 – the music album was also released titled “One Nation”
Focusing on dance music, Love Da Records started from acting as the exclusive distribution representative for labels such as MOS, Hed Kandi, Global Underground, Warp, Ninja Tune, Renaissance and more. In 1998 Love Da Records acted as a dance consultant for BMG Asia Pacific (including Japan and Australia); the role involved analyzing the Asian dance music market as well as strategic planning, and compiling dance music albums for the group.
Nowadays the number has widely expanded from around a dozen dance labels of the early days to representing for many of the most important distributors in the worldwide music industry. There are a total of over 150 individual labels in the world that Love Da Records is representing, covering all different genres of popular music from indie to dance.

At Love Da, we also organize events, providing dynamic and kaleidoscopic live concerts, DJ sets and parties. Several events from small to large scale were taken place in the past two years, and these were well received by the audiences as well as the cooperating partners. Some of the highlights include Dolores O’riordan Private Show case at Grappas Cellar, Nouvelle Vague live in Hong Kong 2007 at HKCEC (part of annual French May festival), Koop Islands Asia Tour (Hong Kong Live) in 2007 at the Western Market and many DJ parties at the most cutting edge clubs around Hong Kong.
