Q Music Presents 5th Annual Q Song Awards in 2010

Queensland’s annual hunt for songwriting excellence kicks off again March 29, 2010. Celebrating 5 years in 2010, Q Song has grown to be one of the premier events on the QLD music industry calendar.

Over the past four years, more than 6500 songs have been entered into the Q Song Awards. With Queensland music continuing to make its mark both nationally and internationally, Q Song provides a platform for up and coming songwriters to share in $35 000 in cash and prizes and build their profile.

Songwriters can enter into a number of competition categories including rock, pop, jazz, blues/roots, folk/ballad, world, urban, alternative and many more.

Past winners include Kate Miller-Heidke, The Boatpeople, The Grates, The John Steel Singers, Robert Forster, Kev Carmody, Bernard Fanning, Ben Salter, Timothy Carroll, Kate Bradley, Jackie Marshall, Tim Steward, James Grehan, 8 Ball Aitken, and many more.

Q Song 2010 opens March 29. See www.qmusic.com.au for information, and to enter online.
