Gold Coast City Council Announce Free Demo And EP Production Program
Gold Coast City Council has just announced the free A-Venue 2010 Demo And EP Production program, which will offer production and distribution assistance to seven selected emerging artists.
The program, running in partnership with Serotonin Productions, will allow new local bands/solo artists to gain an introduction to pop music production by working with a professional producer.
The Demo Production Program offers five bands/artists the chance to record a two-track demo, comprised of original material. To qualify for selection, bands/artists must not already have a CD released. Successful applicants will be treated to a one-hour pre-production workshop, before going into the studio for a full day of recording.
The EP Production Program offers two local bands/artists the opportunity to record a four-track radio quality EP. In addition to this, the band/artist will receive 95 printed copies of the recording, and online distribution, 100% ownded by the artist and non-exclusive. The two successful applicants will also be undertaking the management advice and release planning with Guy Cooper, of Serotonin Productions and Human Records. To be selected, artists will need to have a previously recorded EP/Demo, and groups will require at least one year of experience together as a band.
To be eligible for either program, all solo artists, or 50% of band members must be residents of the Gold Coast, and must be 30 years or under.
Submissions can be made until 5pm on the 25th of March 2010. Please see www.gcbands.com/forum/attachment/download for more information.
