The music industry from around the state, the country and the globe will be packing its collective bags and heading to Brisbane this October – and here is your chance to take your music to the people that matter. Submissions for this year's program have now closed with the selected artists to be notified later this month. From October 18-20 the city will come alive for the 2006 Big Sound Music Industry Conference, featuring the BIG SOUND 2006 Artist Showcase Program. A diverse and vital part of the conference, the showcase program gives artists the chance to have their music heard by some of the industry’s most important decision makers. Showcases will be held on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 October with emerging, national and export ready acts encouraged to apply now in all genres of music. There are two ways to apply... The Fine Print: • Queensland based artists are encouraged to apply. • A limited number of showcase spots will be available for national acts. • There is no travel assistance funding available. • Regional Queensland artists are encouraged to seek travel funding support for conference attendance. • Selected artists will be notified by September 22, 2006. • Acts must be available to be in Brisbane October 18-20, 2006. • One conference pass will be made available to each successful showcase applicant (band or individual).
