Queensland Music Awards 2012 – Entries Open March 1

2011 was a huge year for Queensland music, with the State’s artists literally taking on the world – and right at the centre of it all was the inaugural Queensland Music Awards. The Hilltop Hoods Initiative Returns for 2012

The Hilltop Hoods Initiative is a $10,000 grant funded by Hilltop Hoods and APRA to help emerging Australian Hip Hop artists to manufacture, market and release an album. In addition to $10,000 in funding, the winner will receive legal advice plus a Shure Microphone prize pack. To top it off, the successful applicant will be invited to showcase at Song Summit, 26 - 28 May 2012.

Queensland Artist Composes Soundtrack for Hit Game

Gold Coast based composer Scott Lloyd Shelly, perhaps best known for his music scores for multiple episodes of The Crocodile Hunter TV shows, composed the music for the hit independent game Terraria, which went to number one several times in 2011 on game portal Steam (over 1 million paid downloads).
