The largest music industry conference ever to hit Queensland, Big Sound 2005 is set to take over Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley from July 5-9, 2005 – with the first announcement of speakers and participants released this week by Q Music. More than just a conference targeting the Queensland industry, Big Sound has grown into a truly national industry summit that will this year feature a packed program of seminars, discussions, forums, workshops, networking and showcase opportunities. Q Music's first Big Sound conference (held in 2002) was a resounding success, and since then the event has become an integral part of the Australian music industry calendar. As Q Music’s signature event, Big Sound provides a vital opportunity for people involved in or interested in the contemporary music industry to connect with their peers, uncover the latest music industry issues and trends, and walk out with some fresh ideas. This year, Big Sound will also feature a number of major summits, including a national independent labels summit (produced in partnership with AIR); a contemporary music export forum; and the APRA Roadshow. Big Sound 2005 has already attracted some of the biggest names in the national and international music scene – all heading to Brisbane to share their knowledge and expertise with the local industry.
