CLIPPED Music Video Festival 2017

Australia’s premiere music video festival CLIPPED has opened submission for its annual film clip competition.

Filmmakers and bands are invited to submit their clips from now until entries close on May 1st 2017, with prizes for the winners including equipment, software packages and trophies. A judging panel of industry leaders and innovators will award clips across various categories including Animation, Cinematography, Directing, and Editing.

This year’s festival takes place on the 3rd of June at SUNSTUDIOS in Sydney, and is dedicated to promoting and celebrating the best of Australia and New Zealand’s artists in the field, and provides a platform for bands and filmmakers to showcase their work.

In 2016, CLIPPED received over 1,000 entries. Competition judges included music video directors Nigel Dick (Tears for Fears, Oasis, Britney Spears) and David Wilson (Tame Impala, Metronomy, Arcade Fire).

As well as the competition, the one day event includes an interactive music video exhibition, providing a showcase opportunity for a range of entries, not just category finalists. CLIPPED will also be hosting discussion panels with key speakers and invited guests, VJ sets, premieres, award screening sessions and industry workshops.

Only music videos released or to be released after January 2016 are eligible for consideration. CLIPPED is also looking for submissions or applications to premiere new music videos live at the event.

Submissions can be made via the CLIPPED website
