BIGSOUND Wins Best Live Music Event at NLMAs

BIGSOUND was named Best Live Event in Australia and Best Live Event in QLD at the National Live Music Awards last week. This is the second year BIGSOUND has won Best Live Event for QLD. Following on from her wins at the ARIAs, Amy Shark won Best New Act also for the National categories making the sunshine state proud! Congratulations Amy on a stellar year.  BIGSOUND would like to thank the venues, volunteers, and partners that make BIGSOUND Festival possible. 

Eight simultaneous events around Australia were held on the night, Queensland's event was held in Brisbane's Lefty's Music Hall and presented by 4ZZZ. Live musicians, venues, events and industry organisations were awarded and recognised at the annual event now in its second year.

For the state-based awards, Violent Soho took out Live Act of the Year while Amy Shark received the award for Live Voice of the Year. For Qld The Triffid was presented the best Live Venue award by Oztix.

On the awards, Director of the NLMAs, Larry Heath said, “What an incredible night! The mix of well established and up-and-coming winners on this list bodes well for the health of Australia’s live industry. I don’t think it’s ever looked better than it does right now. Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to rewarding a future batch of live stars at the next awards.”
