Rockhampton A-Venue Forum

Young local musicians are encouraged to attend the Rockhampton A-Venue monthly catch up forum, to be held on Wednesday 13 June at the Rockhampton Regional Library.

A-Venue is a youth music program delivered by Rockhampton Regional Council and Arts Queensland. It aims to give young musicians a helping hand into the music business by providing professional advice and experience.

The upcoming forum will feature guest speakers Martine Cotton from QMusic Tim Price from Pricewar Music and will give participants the opportunity to discuss the future activities of A-Venue in the Rockhampton Region.

Chair of Rockhampton Regional Council's Community Development and Customer Service Committee, Cr Rose Swadling, encouraged young people with an interest in music to attend the forum.

"A-Venue has been responsible for giving many young people professional experience and advice to help them be successful in the music industry, so I encourage any young people with an interest in music to come and see what A-Venue can do for the local music scene," she said.

The forum will be held on Wednesday 13 June in Room 4 on the mezzanine floor, Rockhampton Regional Library, Bolsover Street, Rockhampton from 5.30pm to 7pm. More information can be obtained from Rockhampton Venues and Events on 4924 5600 or avenue@rve.com.au
