Congratulations to QLD's ARIA nominees!

The nominees for the 2017 ARIA Awards have been announced, with the Gold Coast's Amy Shark receiving a massive 6 nods including Best Pop Release, Female Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. Fellow sunshine-staters Dune Rats, Violent SohoThe Kite String Tangle and Busby Marou are also in the running, picking up nominations for Best Rock Album, Best Australian Live Act, Best Dance Release and Best Blues and Roots Album respectively.

Winners of the Artisan and Fine Arts categories were also announced, with Queensland's Katie Noonan & Karin Schaupp taking the prize for Best World Music Album for Songs of the Latin Skies.

Voting Open for The Triffid’s QLD Album of the Year

Voting is now open for the Triffid’s 2017 Queensland Album of the Year. You can have your say in deciding which act is added to the Newstead venue’s wall of fame, which already boasts a host of local favourites, from The Go-Betweens and The Saints to Ball Park Music and Violent Soho.

This year Busby Marou (Postcards From The Shell House), Bernard Fanning (Brutal Dawn), Holy Holy (Paint), The Jungle Giants (Quiet Ferocity) and Sabrina Lawrie (Hush The Mountain) are all in the running to take their place on the wall of state legends.
