The 2012 Queensland Music Awards is shaping up to be one of the most memorable nights of the year, with QMusic today announcing a stellar list of finalists and live performances.
Nearly fifty judges from across the country have selected an amazing list of finalists, including Cub Scouts, Mosman Alder, Harmony James, Dubmarine, The Medics and many more. Joining these artists are the nominees for Arts Queensland’s $10,000 Billy Thorpe Scholarship supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland. Please see below for the full list of finalists in all categories.
Winners across 20 categories will be announced at the 2012 event, which takes place at Brisbane’s historic Old Museum building on August 14. This year’s QMAs will also showcase performances from some of Queensland’s best acts including the legendary Ed Kuepper, Ball Park Music, The Art of Sleeping, The McMenamins and more.
Music fans will also get their own chance to win big by voting in The Courier-Mail People’s Choice Awards. By voting for their favourite artists in the Most Popular Female, Most Popular Male and Most Popular Group categories, they’ll be in the draw to win a festival prize pack, which includes tickets to the Big Day Out, Harvest, Woodford, Soundwave, BIGSOUND Live and the Queensland Music Awards. Voting opens today through the Courier Mail website at www.couriermail.com.au/qma
