Workshops

QMusic delivers a number of workshops, seminars and masterclasses across Queensland every year.

Workshops are designed to target audiences of all levels, whether they be just starting up or at a professional career level.

Most QMusic workshops are free to attend, with the exception of the full day masterclass series. Workshops are facilitated by QMusic staff and industry professionals with high levels of experience are engaged as speakers.

QMusic also partners with A-Venue programs in regional areas. A-Venue workshops and programs are delivered in Cairns, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Rockhampton, Southern Downs and Moreton Bay and based within those regional councils. Working with Indigenous Artists – Arts Law Workshop

Do you work with Indigenous artists and creators or use their work in your resources, products, promotional material,... etc? Solid Arts/Arts Law will be conducting a workshop for people in Government, the educational sector, libraries, museums, galleries and other institutions who would like to know more about working with Indigenous creatives.

Working With Copyright Seminars

The Copyright Council will be holding copyright seminars in Brisbane from 22 to 26 October. Copyright impacts on everyone in their professional and personal lives today. The Copyright Council offers a range of practical seminars to assist creators and users of copyright material on how to work with copyright material in the digital age. The 2012 seminar program has been designed to ensure a strong, and practical, understanding of the latest copyright laws and applications.

Music Industry Master Classes

QUT Music & Sound and MIST Opportunities presents ten master classes that will feature experts and personalities from across the music industry. The Music Industry master classes are free and will be held from the 2nd of August at the QUT Auditorium. Confirmed speakers include Michael Taylor, Michael Smellie, Toby Creswell, Shane Simpson, John Watson, Harley Medcalf, Keir Nuttall and Kate Miller-Heidke.

Cairns EMERGE Workshop and Performance

QMusic and Youth Music Industries will present EMERGE a free three hour workshop for school students interested in learning about careers within the music industry on Friday, July 13 at The Tanks in Cairns. The workshops will be followed by evening performances from Kate Martin, Stephen Smith, Sick of the Silence and Jordan Brodie.
