Little BIGSOUND 2017 Wrap Up

Little BIGSOUND returned bigger and better than ever on Saturday July 29, the event taking over The Edge, SLQ. With a huge lineup of speakers including Brisbane indie-pop darling Airling and electronic maestro The Kite String Tangle and closing with a free all ages gig headlined by Sunshine Coast songstress Ayla, it was a jam-packed day of learning, networking and fun.

In addition to keynotes, panels and presentations, participants were treated to hands-on workshops, creating music on the latest gear from Ableton and taking a tour of the History Of Synth with an interactive display featuring instruments from Korg, Roli and Arturia. They also got the rare opportunity to meet and engage with real world music industry experts through a series of Round Table sessions with experienced Artist Managers, Booking Agents and Publicists.

Catering for emerging artists and young people wanting to learn more about the music industry, Little BIGSOUND is a specially curated platform for 15-25 year olds to connect, gain real life skills, meet industry experts and discover their local music scene. The event was produced by QMusic, the team behind BIGSOUND, and presented in partnership with Brisbane City Council.

QMusic program manager Trina Massey said the event was designed to be a launching point for young musicians to start building networks within the music industry. "Find inspiration in the people you meet" she said. "Use Little BIGSOUND as an opportunity to expand your world."
