Discounted Services
2008 will seen Q Music launch a string of new services designed to help you build your music industry career.
And, if you become a Q Music member, you are able to take advantage of the services listed below at a discounted rate – while some services (like the Grant Writing Service) are available only to members.

The discounted services on offer are:
Music Action Plan (MAPs)
Among the most crucial services is Q Music’s Music Action Plan (MAP), a personalised music career support service. Through the MAP program, Q Music works with you to develop a personally tailored plan for your career.
This is done by arranging for a highly-experienced music industry professional to peruse your personal details, meet with you to discuss them further, and put together a plan to develop your career with you.
At the conclusion of the MAP you have a list of short-term goals and actions which may include information on resources, contacts, support mechanisms and funding appropriate to you and your specific goals.
Any person of any age, background, musical preference or experience level can register to do a MAP. What’s more, there are a range of MAPs available for both individual and groups and you can chose from a “standard” or “advanced” MAP, depending on how detailed you would like your career plan to get.
Q Music members receive discounts on all MAP sessions.

Grant Assistance Service (GAS)
This service is exclusive to Q Music members.
Grant Assistance Service (GAS) is designed to offer advice and assistance to individuals, groups, organisations or businesses applying for grants.
In this case, Q Music does not actually write the grant applications. Rather, GAS sessions are designed to make it easier for anyone in the music industry to complete their applications and successfully win small grants themselves. A GAS session features a one-hour, face-to-face consultation, with a follow-up phone consultation.
To find out more, please email info@qmusic.com.au with “Grant Services” in the subject line.

GWS - Grant Writing Service
Q Music’s Grant Writing Service (GWS) is designed to help members tap into the many and varied grant-based funding options available from all tiers of government.
As part of GWS, Q Music directly contracts from a team of experienced grant writers that we engage to seek out potential funding sources. Once your grant concept is assessed as feasible, the GWS team will then write your grant application for you, and help source the all-important source material you need. While success is not guaranteed, Q Music uses grant writers with an excellent, long-standing record of success.
To find out more, please email info@qmusic.com.au with “Grant Services” in the subject line.

Advocacy
Q Music is the peak body for the Queensland Music Industry. An important part of that role is advocacy - speaking out and lobbying government and private sector organisations to protect, promote and advance the collective interests of Queensland Music Industry stakeholders.
Q Music takes a particular interest in supporting and representing its members on issues that directly effect them. What’s more, becoming a Q Music member ensures we represent a wider range of industry stakeholders.
Q Music is well experienced and placed to argue in favour of the causes, ideas and policies of partners in order to secure ongoing services and support for music development programs in any region across the state.
In addition to that, Q Music has played a pivotal role in national and state issues that directly impact on the development and ongoing sustainability of the music industry.
To date, Q Music has taken a key advocacy role on a range of issues, including moves to protect Queensland’s live music scene. Over the past few years, Q Music has lobbied to all levels of government the need for venues to be allowed to continue operating effectively despite the encroaching influence of residential development in key areas like Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Q Music has advanced a better legislative environment for the live music sector and noise abatement issues for venues.
