Q Music – Queensland Music Network - Policies
Customer service is important to us. We want your online payments to be fast, friendly and most importantly secure. Our policy is to respect and protect the privacy and security of our members and contacts. This policy statement tells you how we safeguard online security.
Our on-line payment facility is operated by Q Music.
Privacy Policy
Q Music is dedicated to keeping your details private. Any information we collect in relation to you, is kept strictly secured. We do not pass on/sell/swap any of your personal details with anyone. We use this information to identify your payment and to personalise your online payment experience with us; that's all.
Q Music uses cookies to allow you to login to your payment account, maintain a shopping cart and to purchase Q Music membership and services in your shopping cart. Cookies sent to your computer from Q Music only last while you’re browsing our website. We do not store persistent cookies on your computer.
Security Policy
When purchasing from Q Music your financial details are passed through our secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology and it is again encrypted using encryption algorithm which is at least 64-bit. 128-bit SSL encryption is approximated to take at least one trillion, trillion years to break.

Pricing Policy
Q Music in a non-profit organisation that relies on your membership and participation in our events and services to help fund the many measures we are taking to realise the potential of the Queensland Music Industry
Pricing for Q Music membership, events and services are carefully monitored by us to provide you with fees competitive to other music industry organisations. All of our prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST (Goods and services tax) as of 1st July 2000. Any price changes will be updated on our websites.
Cancellation Policy
Q Music can refund the purchase price of certain Q Music events and services (eg. BIG SOUND conference, Q Song Awards Night, MAPS and workshops) prior to the event. Refunds cannot be made after the event has occurred.

Q Music may amend this policy from time to time, and the amended policy will be published.
Terms and Conditions
Our policy is to respect and protect the privacy of our members and contacts. This policy statement tells you how we collect information and how we use it.
1) Q Music Membership, Data Storage and Data Collection
The information provides through membership is used as part of our effort to keep members informed about upcoming events, special offers and Q Music activities. Unless otherwise requested, members will automatically receive regular information via email and post, outlining these activities. When you become a member, you understand and agree that this information may be selectively provided to relevant arts organisations that have information that may interest you.
Other personal information collected by Q Music (through means including surveys, workshop feedback forms, and sign up sheets) will be stored by Q Music for internal and statistical use. If you indicate at the time of data collection, your information may be passed on to relevant arts organisations that have information that may interest you. If you indicate at the time of collection, you will also be added to Q Music email mailing lists.
A) The Source Online Music Industry Directory
If, upon membership to Q Music, you choose to be listed in the Source, Q Music will ask you to specify the certain information you’d like to list publicly through the Source, by filling out and submitting a form. Whether your information appears in the Source is completely optional.
If an individual or organisation elects to be listed in the Source, however, Q Music will ask you to specify the personal information you’d like to appear in the Source, such as your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and other personal identifying information. Information that is not specified will not be used in the Source.
If you are not a Q Music member, your details may still be included in the Source as a free listing. Free listings may be submitted by individuals by filling out a ‘free listing’ online form, verifying their permission to have contact details included in the printed publication. Q Music also conducts state wide research, locating the most relevant contacts available. Research includes sourcing contacts from public directories such as the Yellow pages, the Internet, and in partnership with state wide music associations. Q Music then contacts each free listing, where personal identifying information is required to complete the listing, to verbally verify their permission to be included in the directory.
B) Terms and Conditions of Listing in The Source
(a) By submitting a Source listing form you give Q Music permission to publish your details online. It is your responsibility, when submitting this form, to verify those details deemed suitable for publication in the Source by signing the form prior to submission.
(b) Source listing information, as specified in a ‘membership and source listing form’ or ‘free Listing form’ submitted to Q Music, is verified and entered into the Q Music content management system by Q Music staff and volunteers.
(c) Q Music has the right to remove any free or detailed listing information deemed unsuitable at their discretion.
(d) Q Music’s liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law (for any incidental, special or consequential damages suffered by third parties) in relation to the use of, or reliance on material in the Source.
(e) Your submitted information will be stored in the Q Music content management system for internal and statistical use, and may on occasion be passed on to third parties for research purposes only.
(f) You have the right to access, remove or alter your details and privacy preferences at any time.
(g) You may, upon submission of the free listing form choose whether you would like to receive information about Q Music and related upcoming Q Music events, activities or membership drives.
2) Security
Q Music will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorised access, modification, disclosure or other misuse.
3) Sensitive Personal Information
Q Music does not usually collect any sensitive information as that term is used in Australian privacy legislation (including information relating to your racial or ethnic origin, membership of political bodies, religion or trade unions, sexual preferences or activities, criminal record, state of health or medical history). If Q Music holds any sensitive personal information about you, that information will only be used and disclosed by Q Music for the purpose that it was provided by you.
4) Access to Personal Information
Q Music members and contacts are entitled to request their removal from email and other mailing lists at any time.
Q Music members have the right to request access to and correct personal information that Q Music holds and to amend privacy preferences, at any time. Q Music will process your request within a reasonable time. You should promptly notify Q Music if there are any changes to your personal information.
5) Changes to this Policy
Q Music may amend this policy from time to time, and the amended policy will be published
6) Disclaimer - The Source
(a) Q Music does not warrant or guarantee that material placed in the Source is accurate, complete, definitive, up to date or fit for any particular purpose;
(b) Q Music does not endorse any views expressed or where appropriate any products or services offered, in individual Source listings;
(c) All material in the Source is provided on an ‘as is, as available’ basis;
(d) Q Music does nor guarantee that any files contained on any websites hyperlinked from ‘the Source Online’ are unaffected by viruses, errors or defects;
(e) Q Music does not guarantee that the Source Online will be accessible to users on a secure or uninterrupted basis or that any errors, viruses or defects will be corrected if discovered; and
(f) Q Music’s liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law (for any incidental, special or consequential damages suffered by third parties) in relation to the use of, or reliance on material on the Source online or hyperlinked sites. |
