Queensland's Next Generation of Songwriters Crowned in a Huge Night of Celebration

The pouring rain didn't dampen the spirits of the 2010 Q Song celebrations - Queensland’s music community was out in force to celebrate the achievements of Queensland’s established and emerging artists.

The night belonged to pop kings the Hungry Kids of Hungary who took out both the Alternative and Song of the Year categories with their single Wristwatch.

My Fiction won the popular vote taking out the Courier-Mail People’s Choice Award with Every June while Dave McCormack picked up Published Song of the Year for his song I Don’t Even Know Where to Start ( With this Kind of Music) from his opus Little Murders.

Carol Lloyd was honored with the G.W McLennan Lifetime Achievement Award and ripped up the stage with a rendition of the 1974 hit Matter of Time and a cover of Whole Lotta Love.

Teen sensations Freak Morice’s lead singer Kahlia Ferguson took out the Secondary School Award and opened the night with a stellar performance making them one to watch.

Kev Carmody made a rare live appearance and thrilled the audience singing From Little Things Big Things Grow and presented the Indigenous Award to newcomers Busby Marou.

Impossible Odds took out the Urban Award while 11 year old Jessica Coleman took out the Primary School Award with her song about her friend's Dad heading off to war.

Dubmarine, fresh from their European tour put in a killer performance to end the night.
