Entries for the 2018 Carol Lloyd Award, a $15,000 fellowship awarded to an emerging Queensland female singer-songwriter and named in honour of the legendary Railroad Gin frontwoman, will close on March 9.
The prize money will allow the winner the to record their own full length album or record and tour their own EP. Now in its second year, the award gives female artists an amazing opportunity to get a head start in their career, the means to broaden their experience within the music industry, and help them to realise their goals as an emerging artist.
The inaugural award was won by Georgia Potter (Moreton) and presented at the launch of the Queensland Music Festival in May this year.
The judging panel for the 2018 Carol Lloyd Award is made up of Katie Noonan, Joc Curran, Leanne de Souza, Sean Sennett, Annie Peterson and John Willsteed.
The Carol Lloyd Award is presented by Queensland Music Festival and supported by APRA AMCOS and Hutchinson Builders and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
