Every year in March tens of thousands from the world over flock to Austin, Texas for the SXSW Music Festival, one of the largest, most influential global music events in the world.Across a massive range of venues scattered through downtown Austin, showcasing acts play to an audience of industry reps, media members, and thousands of fans and fellow musicians from every corner of the globe.

Applications are now open for a number of international showcase opportunities around the globe, including SXSW, The Great Escape and Canadian Music Week.
There are also additional showcase opportunities through SOUNDS AUSTRALIA's long-running Aussie BBQ shows, which draw a huge crowd every year.
SOUNDS AUSTRALIA is Australia’s export music market development initiative, established to provide a cohesive and strategic platform to assist the Australian music industry access international business opportunities.
In total, 783 Australian artists have showcased with SOUNDS AUSTRALIA (since Jan 2009).
Artists who played their first international showcase with SOUNDS AUSTRALIA include Courtney Barnett, D.D Dumbo, DMA’S, Flume, Julia Jacklin, Hermitude, Methyl Ethel, Nick Murphy, Peking Duk, San Cisco, Sheppard, The Jezabels, The Preatures, Tkay Maidza and Vance Joy.
Showcasing at international music market events can offer valuable opportunities for artists and businesses to secure international performance, touring and festival slots, label or record company signings, distribution deals, promotional opportunities, media relationship building, song placement and synchronisation offers, co-management and management deals in overseas territories, not withstanding general global networking and relationship building.

Each year Canadian Music Week attracts thousands of artists and industry from around the world to gather in Toronto, ON for an entire week of live music, learning, and making new connections. The Great Escape is the festival for new music, showcasing 500 emerging artists from all over the world in 30+ walkable venues across the city plus, new for 2018, a festival site on Brighton Beach. It’s the first place to discover your new favourite artist and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages.
