Townsville's Greta Stanley is well and truly on the rise. The 23-year-old indie-folk wunderkind weaves heartfelt songs inspired by her home in far north Queensland.
The clip for her new release Heavy Heat, the second single from her impressive debut LP Full Grown, released late last year, just received its premiere via triple j Unearthed. In support of the single Stanley is embarking on an exciting run of tour dates, including appearances at the Commonwealth Games Festival and a spot on the Big Pineapple Festival, secured as part of her participation in QMusic's workshop program Industry Connect, which opened up registrations for 2018 this week.
In addition to the performance opportunities provided by the program, Industry Connect has given Stanley the opportunity to meet and learn from music industry experts from across the country.
"Industry Connect workshops and panelists have been really helpful and I would highly recommend them to aspiring artists. The information and resources provided have often proved to be an essential part of my learning and I believe these workshops have made me more confident in many aspects of my career within the music industry." she said.
Industry Connect has helped my manager and I with my career development, introductions and contacts within the industry, festival application advice and has also provided us with an amazing level of advice and consistent support through an always open line of communication.Greta Stanley
QMusic Program Manager Trina Massey says she is thrilled to have had Stanley take part in the program.
"Greta is an amazing musical talent, her participation in Industry Connect has helped me understand different way to help developing artists" she said.
We're sure we'll be seeing many more exciting developments in Greta's career in the near future!
