NEW DALWOOD-WYLIE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

QMusic is proud to announce the new Dalwood-Wylie Foundation Scholarship. A first for the Australian music industry, privately funded by the Dalwood-Wylie Foundation, the trail-blazing Scholarship will award $15,000 to a Queensland-based contemporary musician who lives with a disability to enable them to make significant progress creatively, in their music career.

2024 LEGACY CASH SCHOLARSHIPS

Funded by the Queensland Government, four recipients will be granted $15,000 each via existing legacy scholarships:

Presented for the first time in 2023, the annual $15,000 Dennis ‘Mop’ Conlon Scholarship provides the opportunity for an emerging Indigenous Queensland musician or band to develop and record a song or series of songs, to support and develop their ongoing career in the music industry. The 2023 winner was Dean Brady.

The Billy Thorpe Scholarship, offers a $15,000 recording and career support package, is awarded annually at the QMAs. Past winners include Sam Hales of The Jungle Giants, Greta Stanley, NEISH and Beckah Amani.

The Carol Lloyd Award honours original ‘rock chick’ Carol Lloyd and awards $15,000 to support an emerging female-identifying or non-binary Queensland musician to record a full-length album or record and tour an EP. Previous recipients include Platonic Sex, Hope D, Sahara Beck, Leanne Tennant and Moreton.

Now in its 16th year, the Grant McLennan Fellowship honours the late singer songwriter and The Go-Betweens co-frontman, funding the recipient an opportunity to travel to New York, London or Berlin to be immersed in a foreign and vibrant musical culture to further develop their artistic skills.
