Smugglers of Light Music & Media Award

APRA AMCOS have announced the return of The Smugglers of Light Foundation Music and Media Award Grant.

The Award has been established by the founders of The Smugglers of Light in memory of Eli Westlake aged 21, who was tragically killed in Sydney on 7 June 2008.

The $12,000 grant is awarded every two years to a music or media practitioner of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background to help support their professional development.

Now in its third year, the Music and Media Award was announced as part of the 2019 Professional Development Awards. In 2017, composer, violinist and dancer Eric Avery was the recipient.

Individuals and/or groups working on a creative endeavour across music and/or media and feel that the grant can help fund their objectives, are encouraged to apply.

Applications for the Smugglers of Light Foundation Music and Media Award close Friday 12 July, 5pm AEST
