A QMusic Womxn In Music Program
QMxntorship serves to support emerging music professionals in Queensland’s music industry to help us recover from the devastation felt by the effects of COVID-19 and safeguard a pipeline of talent to create new music and works into the future.
QMxntorship 2020 will serve the needs of womxn with a focus on First Nations professionals and those from regional communities working as part of the online mentor and mentee groups. QMxntorship is proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government.
The team of eight mentees will create and deliver a regional tour for November 2020; working with the QMusic project team to plan the events circuit, develop budgets, book venues and artists and manage events. Mentees will be supported with 3 x 90 minute one-on-one sessions (online) with an industry leader matched to their project role who they can lean on for knowledge and guidance, as well as fortnightly collaborative meetings (online) with the wider project team.
Funding for QMxntorship is from the Queensland Government via the Advancing Women in Business initiative from the Department of Small Business, Employment and Training. This initiative supports and encourages more women to start and grow their own business and attain positions of leadership.
Mentee applications for QMxntorship 2020 are now closed.
