Managing your finances is an important part of any successful music project.

If you’re a musician, chances are you’ll need a basic understanding of ABNs, superannuation and how to fill out a tax return for your business.
We’ll be joined by Emma Brophy (Senior Client Manager, Generate Tax and Accounting Consultants) for an overview on what you need to know when declaring your APRA AMCOS royalties at tax time. This webinar will mark the launch of the ‘Tax Pack’ for musicians, providing you with resources to use each financial year (check it out here!). Key topics:

  • Deductions: what you can claim
  • Super: how to claim a tax deduction for super you pay yourself
  • How to find your APRA income
  • Special professional income averaging
  • Paying income tax in advance (PAYG instalments)
  • Foreign income (withholding tax)

Includes a Q&A session.
Please note: the information being presented is general. Questions relating to your specific earnings or tax return cannot be addressed.

QMUSIC acknowledges the many Traditional Custodian groups all across what is now referred to as Queensland. We pay our respect to all elders: past and present. As a peak body we also acknowledge the important role that music has played and continues to play on these lands since the very first sunrise.
