#Sarah Ponturo

Executive Producer

Sarah Ponturo is a leader in events management with two decades of experience, spanning music, arts, festivals, corporate, NFP and community sectors, nationally and internationally.

Freelancing as ‘Neon Events’, Sarah is an expert in concept and programming development, operations and project management, with detailed execution from project start to finish.

After successfully completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Technical Production) at QUT, Sarah has gained practical and theoretical skills in all areas of creative production management, stage management, stage design, sound and lighting production.

In 2006, Sarah started her professional career working as a stage manager for music and arts events, festivals and national arts tours.

Across her career, Sarah has spent 5 years working in the Not For Profit sector, producing large-scale fundraising events, developing strategic fundraising campaigns, programs and partnerships.

From 2014, Sarah continued to excel as the senior event producer and manager for a number of large scale events including Valley Fiesta, Teneriffe Festival and Queensland Multicultural Awards, designing, curating and delivering all aspects of the respective events.

Sarah has worked for QPAC as an associate producer for contemporary music productions; producing shows for Ludovico Einaudi, The Tallest Man on Earth, Ane Brun and Bonnie Raitt.

Sarah began freelancing as an events and operations manager, producer and project coordinator in 2017 and has since worked with QMusic, The Tivoli, Brisbane Festival, Big Pineapple Festival, FOMO Festival, Peking Duk, What So Not, RL Grime, Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival, Laneway Festival, Splendour in the Grass, Listen Out and Falls Festival.

In 2020, Sarah co-created and produced ‘One Trick Pony Club’; a love-themed, comedy variety show. Born out of a strong passion for music and community arts, One Trick Pony Club is a multi-art form performance event concept, created to raise the level of support for local and emerging artists, and to simply celebrate life's ultimate joy and love through creative expression. One Trick Pony Club has featured at Brisbane Comedy Festival and showcases at The Tivoli.

In the early days, Sarah grew up studying music, playing instruments, singing and performing and from a young age has dedicated her time to her creative practice and experience. Now a proud mama to a beautiful baby girl, Sarah’s creative fire burns brighter than ever before, combining her passion for music and strong value for family.

Sarah is dedicated to developing events with a positive social and economic impact to all artists, industry and the wider community, and is renowned for delivering each and every project with expression, professionalism and a tonne of bright, big, 'neon' energy!

Passionate about creativity, culture and community, Sarah believes in her creative purpose and the enormous power of story-telling and celebration from artist to audience; to celebrate the little things, the big things and everything in between, by sharing the gift of music, live experience, love and joy within our community.

QMUSIC acknowledges the many Traditional Custodian groups all across what is now referred to as Queensland. We pay our respect to all elders: past and present. As a peak body we also acknowledge the important role that music has played and continues to play on these lands since the very first sunrise.
